Inaugurating a new city streetstyle-wise is tricky. Yet, who better to represent the first New York post than one of the most up-and-coming blogging revolutionaries, Leandra Medina aka Man Repeller. Dressed all sporty in sneakers and a green checkered shirt as she walked to Alexander Wang SS13, Leandra is as refreshing as her green shorts. Pulling that chic look with her ever so cool, green-toned Céline bag and some pink retro shades, Leandra is not only a sight to be remembered but certainly, a future force to be reckoned with.
Kapow. By urban definition, the word written for a loud noise or action. Fashion-wise, however, it is the noise made when a strong personality meets a strong look. Meet Hege Golf. Perhaps it’s her model background that give her stance. Or it could be that beautiful scandinavian look contrasted to the blue tones throughout her Acne blazer and her blue eye shadow. Or it could be that quirky attitude that shines through her vibrant way of being. Nonetheless, there is no doubt that in an Acne outfit (take notice of her shoes) with a dash of Céline, Hege is truly the fashion meaning of kapow. A true statement.
Certain moments are simply precious. Instead of doing the regular hand on the shoulder pose, a natural moment reflects life and vibrant nature. It is on that note that I snapped the lovely Hedvig Opshaug aka The Northern Light as she was crossing the street and taking a break from the Parisian heat. With some Isabel Marant Trousers and a lace tee by Acne, Hedvig is utter proof that femininity does not depend on clothes, but much rather style and attitude. Add that Céline bag, those Prada sandals, a Cooee bracelet and her Ray Ban’s and you get a tough, yet chic look.
It’s funny how much a smile can lighten up every picture. Yet with Anja Stang, it’s only one of the variables in the whole image. In vibrant turquoise latex tee from Christina Ledang and Bianco shoes with a dash of pop in her Céline bag, Anja is clear proof that Norwegians are unafraid of color and material. And in the long run, a dash of shock color goes the extra mile!
Hold on, I’m on the phone has never looked so fashionable than at Fashion Week. Cèline bag on shoulder, bright leggings and a snake printed phone cover. And obviously add the ethereal Yulia Lobova (@ Supreme NY) for a fun and chic fashion phone conversation.
The art of styling starts with knowing itself. Not always is it about being the loudest but about being right for one’s own body and persona. Simple, yet effective, Marianne Theodorsen aka StyleDevil knows that a good black coat can go the extra mile. In an Epilogue by Eva Emanuelsen, a Céline bag and a peeking Marc Jacobs dress underneath, Marianne is both chic and true to that bight red hair and that vibrant woman within.
Besides having that automatic grunge appeal in her long, blond hair, Elen Kristvik has an interesting kind of quirk. Beyond her Céline loafers, the combination in textures and shades is what keeps all sharp and clean. Sort of staying true to a scandinavian appeal, Elen taps into that essential point of being a nordic girl in style. A sort of Scandinavian Suave.
