The Snapshots // Bertine Zetlitz

The power of surprise is a powerful one. While attending ELLE’s 15 Year Anniversary Party, I ran into singer Bertine Zetlitz. For all those unknown to her, Bertine challenged normal video aesthetics through edgy and quirky scenes, with her contrasting sweet voice. Little could one know that there was a style figure hidden in her as well. In a both modern and retro outfit, Bertine tapped into what suited her best. Her Whyred loose-bottomed pants along with her vintage jeweled top made her into a sort of modern “I love Genie” icon. And with such finesse, who wouldn’t want to draw that similarity. Certainly, more than one to watch.

Damir Doma’s aesthetics always inspire me. Something about those silhouettes catering to masculinity with a hint of an androgynous nature in their cut seems both modern and poetic. That’s why I always like to see men in Damir. Caught Alexander Lindseth, a design student at TEKO in Copenhagen. In all black, Alexander was walking proof of the idea of everlasting and a new sense of classical masculinity.

The sexy, sultry look is overdone and overexposed by merely that, overexposure. Yet tapping into a more sophisticated place takes both femininity and finesse. In a summer suit by By Malene Birger, Ingrid Holm aka The Shwomanship, does the V routine. By not wearing a shirt, there is something left for the imagination, while still keeping that elegant allure. Such allure that in bold red lips, shows the true essence of a young woman.

Bright personalities need bright accessories, right? Well, such is the case for Norwegian TV personality Jenny Skavlan. Glowing in a lilac-toned dress, lime high-heeled sandals and complimented in white by a blazer and her cambridge satchel company bag, Jenny is the right combination of summer and chic. Because summer is made for colors.

Some people just have it. With her blond, curly afro hair, a hot pink piece and clutch by Acne and sneaker heels, Maya Vik is sensational. Don’t really like using the word on writing, but sincerely, Maya is one of the only Norwegian people I know of that radiates swagger. With a clear focus on the legs, the piece goes to show that being loud pays off at times. It’s feminine, it’s bold, it’s Maya.

Making basics work is not always a successful task to be done. However, mixing stripes and vintage silk, Ada Kristine Nilsen aka A Hint of Peppermint ties it all in a girly and flirty way, while attending ELLE Norway’s 15 Years Anniversary Party. The combination of patterns combined with the midriff proves that a little bit og mix and match can do wonders.

Simple girls need simple solutions. Natural and effortless, Fanny Sohlberg (@ TEAM Models Oslo) embodies that feeling. A leather jacket does not need to lead to a boring look, but rather spiced up with a set of red, skinny jeans and boyish moccasins, a chic girl with a wonderful, tall frame arises. After all, what could suit a modelesque girl better. If you got it, flaunt it.

Flavor and rhythm: Two terms that don’t necessarily combine with street style. However, Cath Røsseland proves otherwise. With an urban, vibrant vibe to her and a mixture in vintage zebra and Henrik Vibskov prints, Cath is unafraid to bring out her best qualities. It’s such flavor and rhythm that almost create a delightful visual beat and left me with a sweet sensation. Energetic vibe, energetic woman!

Making the obvious obvious is no fun. Tying the knot into a more boyish look while keeping that sweet charm, Hanna Sørheim @ VIVA Paris & DNA New York is more than a model. On flat moccasins, a studded jacket and traditional Ray Ban’s, Hanna is that urban, chic girl. Soon New York bound!

Some things are as simple as a girl in freckles. Sophia Valen @ Team Models has that expensive simplicity in her nordic look. Following the Jil Sander trend through her top, there’s just something ethereal about Sophia.
